Arizona legislators voted for SB 1062 so that business owners could freely exercise their sincere religious beliefs by protecting themselves from anyone who places a burden on their ability to live out their faith. According the bill’s sponsor, GOP Senator Steve Yarbrough, “This bill is about preventing discrimination against people who are clearly living out their faith.” Facing protests from around the country and from within Arizona, Arizona Governor Jan Brewer vetoed the bill. Other states have considered or are considering similar bills. If supporters of religious liberty laws want business owners to have the right to exclude homosexuals from their businesses, one can only assume that supporters would take every opportunitiy to exclude homosexuals from every part of their lives.
1st Question Background
To remove any burden on their ability to live out their sincere religious beliefs and to protect themselves from discrimination for clearly living out their faith, supporters of religious liberty laws would have to do all of the following:
Never read anything written by homosexual author Truman Capote.
Refuse to watch the movie Top Gun with its lesbian lead actress, Kelly McGillis.
Boycott any movie with homosexual Rock Hudson (Magnificent Obsession, All That Heaven Allows, Written on the Wind, Giant, Pillow Talk), homosexual Richard Chamberlain (The Four Musketeers, The Three Musketeers, The Return of the Musketeers, The Towering Inferno, Shogun), and lesbian Jodie Foster (The Silence of the Lambs, Contact, The Brave One, Flightplan, Taxi Driver, Panic Room).
Leave any sports stadium that plays “We Are the Champions” because homosexual Freddie Mercury wrote and performed it.
Remove all benefits of science from their lives because homosexual Sir Francis Bacon worked out the principles of inductive reasoning:
1. “accumulating a store of particular empirical observations”
2. “from these inductively inferring lesser axioms”
3. “from these inductively inferring middle axioms”
4. “proposing the most general of notions, each in progressive steps”
If supporters of religious liberty laws were truly living out their sincere religious beliefs, they would do all of the above plus anything else necessary to eliminate all burden of abomination and perversity from their lives. If those supporters are not doing all of the above, they are something other than sincere about their religious beliefs.
1st Question to Ask Supporters of Religious Liberty Laws
When are you going to remove the full multitude of perverse burdens and abominated discrimination that gays and lesbians place on your ability to live out your sincere faith?
2nd Question Background
Below is a list of sins mentioned in the Bible in order of total mentions. It is reasonable to assume that the total number of mentions indicates the severity of the sin:
Idolatry, 169 mentions
Self-righteousness, 79 mentions
Murder, 57 mentions
Adultery, 52 mentions
Theft, 42 mentions
Greed, avarice, and covetousness, 40 mentions
Lying and false testimony, 30 mentions
Hatred, 21 mentions
Homosexual acts, 7 mentions
If supporters of religious liberty laws were truly living out their sincere religious beliefs, they would focus on removing any burden on their ability to sincerely live out their faith from all of the sins identified in the Bible.
2nd Question to Ask Supporters of Religious Liberty Laws
When will you start protecting your sincere religious beliefs from the burden placed on you by the 11 sins that together are mentioned 70 times more often in the Bible than homosexual acts?
3rd Question Background
If the liberty to practice their religion is so important to Christian supporters of protective laws, they should make sure they pay attention to God’s intentions. One way to do that is to pay attention to how God distributes abilities. God distributed scientific abilities equally between homosexual Sir Francis Bacon and heterosexual Rene Descartes. Bacon worked out the principles of inductive reasoning. Descartes worked out the principles of deductive reasoning:
1. “accepting as ‘truth’ only clear, distinct ideas that could not be doubted”
2. “breaking a problem down into parts”
3. “deducing one conclusion from another”
4. “conducting a systematic synthesis of all things”
Inductive reasoning is the method for forming hypotheses and theories.
Deductive reasoning is the method for testing hypotheses and theories.
God gave a homosexual man the scientific ability to work out the principles of inductive reasoning. God gave a heterosexual man the scientific ability to work out the principles of deductive reasoning.
3rd Question to Ask Supporters of Religious Liberty Laws
If God wants you to see gays and lesbians as infringing on your ability to sincerely live out your religious faith, why does God create homosexuals and heterosexuals as equals?
Read another example of God creating homosexuals and heterosexuals as equals.
